Department of Children & Families

Building Resilience

At Hoops 4 Life, our DCF Support Program provides a safe, structured, and encouraging environment for children and youth connected with the Connecticut Department of Children & Families. We focus on stability, emotional wellness, and positive development through person-centered activities that help build confidence, strengthen life skills, and foster healthy relationships.

With a blend of mentorship, enrichment programs, and community-based experiences, we guide each young person toward healing, growth, and greater self-belief. Our goal is to ensure every child feels supported, valued, and empowered to move toward a brighter future.

Program Structure

Community
Connections

At Hoops 4 Life, we believe that meaningful growth extends beyond program activities. Youth in our care have the opportunity to participate in community-focused experiences such as local events, service projects, and supervised outings. These moments help them build real-world confidence, develop teamwork, and form lasting connections with the world around them.

Family
Partnership

We recognize that families are essential partners in every child’s success. Our team collaborates closely with parents and caregivers to ensure individualized needs are met, progress is clearly communicated, and support feels consistent both at home and within the program. Together, we create a cohesive path forward for each child.

By blending skill-building, social engagement, and community involvement, Hoops 4 Life’s DCF-aligned programs help children and youth grow with stability, confidence, and a strong sense of belonging.
